THE COMMISSION PROCESS
Thank you for your interest in my commission painting process.
It is always a pleasure to receive a request for custom artwork. A commission is a true collaboration between the artist and the client and reflects not only my style and observations as the artist, but also your preferences and personality as the client. The whole process can be as memorable as the painting itself.

1 | MEET & GREET
Once you've submitted your request form, I will be in touch (usually within 72 hours.)
The process begins with an informal chat about size, colors, budget, typically over email (sometimes zoom). I use images & color palettes that you choose from my previous works as a spring board for your unique painting commission.
2 | AGREEMENT
Once everything has been agreed in a simple commission agreement, the first invoice of a non-refundable installment deposit (pre-arranged in our initial discussion) is submitted and I can begin bringing your painting to life!
3 | BRINGING YOUR PAINTING TO LIFE!
Throughout the project, I provide you email updates with images of your work in progress. Once the painting is complete, I’ll send you a final photograph just to make sure you're happy.
4 | FINISHING TOUCHES
I, of course, want you to be happy with your artwork, so I include 2 rounds of minor alterations within the proposed quote. This works to both our advantages in that your commission will be finished in a timely manner and within your budget.
If, for any reason, you are not satisfied with your commission (this has never happened!), you may use your deposit as credit in my online store. This means I am able to make the finished painting available for purchase elsewhere.
5 | COLLECTION, INSTALL or SHIPPING
Upon final approval of your completed commission you’ll recieve the last itemised invoice.
Collection or shipping of your final artwork to it’s final destination occurs after payment has been received.

COMMISSION YOUR ORIGINAL PAINTING!
There are many reasons that commissioning a unique piece of art directly from the artist may be the ideal solution. For example, you may like my style, but the color palette or size of my currently available artwork isn’t quite right for your space, or perhaps one of my previous paintings has already sold and you would like to capture a similar look in a new work.
Commissioning a painting and being able to communicate directly with the artist is a unique opportunity to create a painting that fits perfectly in your space. Working with my clients to create the perfect art piece that complements not only their space but also their lifestyle and unique personalities is something I truly enjoy.

Inspiration
Most of my signature paintings are vibrant and colorful. However, I also draw inspiration from a collector’s interior space, using colors and details present to create a concept.
Referencing examples of my previous work is often useful to help me understand the elements of my style and features of my work that most appeal to you. Please keep in mind that no two paintings are the same.
Color Palette
I work with collectors to create a custom color palette that will align with their interior space. I am very happy to receive input on color preferences or design a custom palette that I think works well in your space. I would be happy to make a recommendation based on the intended location of the piece. Please let me know if there are certain color combinations that you are looking for, Such as bright tones, warm or cool tones, minimalist style, or light and airy etc
Sizing
It is great to know the approximate wall measurements, but if you are unsure what size I would be happy to make a recommendation based on the intended location of the piece
Time Frame
You can expect a 3-month turnaround time once the application process moves forward.
Factors that may determine the final timeframe include my schedule, your design vision and its complexity, the size and number of canvases, any revisions and the final finishing and shipping process.
If you require your artwork by a particular date be sure to let me know so I can confirm that it can be completed in time or not.
Commission Artwork as Thoughtful Gifts
Gift Certificates can be purchased as payment towards any commission.
They can be particularly useful if you would like to commission a piece as a gift but are not able to obtain appropriate reference photos of the subject without the cooperation of the one to which it is gifted.
