Transformation Taking Flight explores the sacred threshold between who we were and who we are becoming.
Across a luminous field of sky-blue atmosphere, Monarch butterflies rise together, their wings unfolding like living maps of resilience and instinct. Each carries the delicate geometry that has guided their species across continents for generations — a reminder that transformation often emerges from forces deeper than logic or certainty.
The Monarch’s life cycle mirrors the human experience. Inside the chrysalis, the caterpillar dissolves completely before reforming into something entirely new. What once crawled must surrender its former shape before it can learn to fly. This quiet dissolution is not destruction — it is preparation.
Julie Davis captures this moment not as an ending, but as an unfolding. The butterflies move in layered motion, suggesting a collective migration — an ascent guided by inner knowing rather than visible direction.
Their fragile wings carry an ancient paradox: what appears delicate holds extraordinary endurance. The Monarch travels thousands of miles guided only by instinct and invisible cues written into its being.
Displayed within a space, Transformation Taking Flight becomes more than an image of butterflies — it becomes a reflection on the human journey of becoming.
A meditation on trust.
On surrendering old identities.
And on the courage required to follow a calling that cannot yet be fully seen.
A reminder that transformation rarely announces itself with certainty.
Often, it begins quietly —
when we simply choose to take flight.
